Featuring music, burlesque, acrobats and much, much more, it’s New Mills Festival FABARET, brought to you by ‘the Festival and Music in Hospitals and Care’. Doors will be flamboyantly-flung open, at 7.30 pm on Friday 13th September, by your compere for the night, Rosie Lugosi. The event takes place at the newly-renovated events floor in the iconic Torr Vale Mill, located in the stunningly beautiful Torrs Riverside Park - a natural gorge that runs through the centre of New Mills - and promises to be a real barnstorming Festival launch event.

Tickets – priced at £20 (Advance) and £23 (Full) – are available only to over 16s. Acts include music from The Baghdaddies and, also local favourites - Lazlo Baby. There will be jaw-dropping acrobatics from the female duo Les Deux Ailes, and sultry performances by the wonderful burlesque star, Raven Noir.

The Friday 13th date could not be more appropriate for our compere. Lock up your daughters, hold on to your hats and keep your hand on your jewels... prepare yourself for the Vampire Queen, Rosie Lugosi! Her performances combine terror with a dash of tease, glamour with more than a hint of hellfire. There'll be twisted tunes, killer curves, fearsome fangs, hisses and kisses. Be prepared for thrilling, retro, high-camp, kink entertainment as she cracks the whip, making sure that everyone is sitting uncomfortably... Rosie Lugosi is a mistress of musical mayhem – one of the UK's most in-demand comperes, and certainly the kinkiest. She has appeared throughout the UK as well as Europe and the USA and is well-equipped to keep things moving along at a pace.

Our burlesque act, Raven Noir, began performing in 2012 at ‘Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque’ in Sheffield and has taken the burlesque scene by storm. Known for her amazing costumes and her dark, sultry routines, Raven has performed all over the UK, Europe and Australia!

Acrobatic duo, Deux Ailes combine grace, style and gravity-defying agility, both in the air and on the ground, creating breath-taking routines that have dazzled audiences in cabarets, weddings, events and festivals across the world.  Professional dancer Fiona and Commonwealth Games Circus Graduate Cory, merge the worlds of dance and acrobatics with performances that enthral and excite. Between romantic and sexy, these two powerful women are unmissable.

To kick off the music and dancing and hailing from Eastern Stockport, Lazlo Baby bring you folksy ska with high octane exuberance. Whilst dabbling in the delights that klezmer, gypsy and trad Irish music have to offer, Lazlo Baby stitch together pounding melodies that'll clobber you with their enthusiastic brouhaha. A firm Festival favourite, they never fail to get the audience on their feet with energetic driving songs featuring accordion, cello, clarinet & sax.

And if all that wasn’t enough, we will be rounding off the evening with our headline act The Baghdaddies’ exuberant and rampant brand of world music. An exhilarating cocktail of Balkan melodies, ska and latin grooves with sizzling brass played with furious energy and theatrical humour, making them as unforgettable on stage as they are when performing as wandering brass troubadours. They take themselves incredibly seriously, so you don’t have to. The band has a particular flair for the Balkans and capture its frenetic energy and flamboyance wonderfully. There is also a fair share of klezmer, jazz and punk – an anarchic fusion where Ivo Papasov meets The Clash meets The Beat. The Baghdaddies pump out an eclectic fusion of rhythms and melodies plucked from around the world that are guaranteed to raise your spirits!

Torr Vale Mill has a fully licensed bar. Tickets are available from Priscilla’s Hallmark Cards, Market Street, New Mills, SK22 4AA, online below or tel: 07753842861.
