WALK - HISTORIC BUILDINGS OF LOW LEIGHTON AND BEARD
Meet 2pm at the Hare and Hounds, Low Leighton Road SK22 4LS. Expected finish about 4pm
Following the popular and successful guided tours of the historic buildings of New Mills town centre held in recent years, New Mills Walkers are Welcome invite you to a new tour exploring the historic buildings in and around the south-eastern end of town. We will view an 18th-century house on the Buildings at Risk register, the historic farmhouses of Laneside Farm, Ollersett Hall, Howcroft and Beard Hall, and finish up by visiting St George's Parish Church, New Mills School, and the Hare and Hounds pub, itself a listed building.
Some paths and tracks may be muddy if wet: please wear sensible footwear for a country walk and come equipped for the weather on the day. Approximately 2½ miles, easy pace.
FREE but donations to New Mills Walkers Are Welcome are welcome. No need to book, tel: 01663 747574 for further details
