At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. A Death Cafe is an informal group- directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session. Like all Death Cafes, this one has no agenda other than come along to converse and share ideas and feelings about death, while eating cakes and sipping tea together, there is a lot to talk about. It is NOT a therapy or bereavement group. Our objective is shared by all Death Cafes: "to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives."

Please support our generous hosts, Pulse Cafe, by purchasing coffee and cake!

The aim of Compassionate Communities Derbyshire is to encourage people and communities to talk about death, dying, bereavement and loss, to allow people to share their preferences and wishes about the future and to support each other in practical and emotional ways. The project is funded by Derbyshire County Council and is delivered by Age UK Derby and Derbyshire in the High Peak
