Tales of Adventure, Life and Rock and Roll at New Mills Festival 2017

Broadcast royalty, Andy Kershaw will be gracing New Mills with his presence on Saturday 16th September at New Mills School. A true music aficionado, Andy will be telling tales of Adventure, life and Rock and Roll.

Andy’s one-man show, The Adventures of Andy Kershaw, has become a hugely successful highlight of many literary festivals - including a sold-out appearance at Hay on Wye - and a popular draw at theatres and arts centres around the UK. Fascinating and often hilarious, the two hour audio-visual presentation treats the audience to recollections from a life spent on the front lines of rock & roll, and on the front lines of some of the world’s most extreme and dangerous countries.

From Jimi Hendrix to Keith Richards, and Johnny Marr to Bob Dylan, Andy has tales to tell that will take you on a helter skelter tour of his many adventures, making you laugh out loud, on this exhilarating journey.

To give you a small flavour of his many adventures; Andy has shared a cramped office with John Peel for twelve years, been banned from Malawi, was Billy Bragg’s driver roadie and tour manager, he reported on the Rwandan genocide and for the BBC on three Civil wars, whilst also writing some interesting messages on parasols for the Rolling Stones.

Andy will also be available to sign copies of his critically acclaimed book ‘No Off Switch’.

“Andy Kershaw's No Off Switch is sensational. Wildly hilarious. An amazing read. An amazing man."  Stephen Fry
