Fifty years ago, today Sgt. Pepper taught his band to play…Abbey Road! Join a choir for the day to sing classics from Abbey Road, including Come Together, Something, Octopus's Garden, Here Comes the Sun, and other well-known Beatles’ songs. As a choir, you will learn distributed material from scratch, rehearsed during the day by choral director Eleanor Mottershead with piano accompaniment from Tim Mottershead - and you will perform to a live audience the same evening! This workshop aims to build on the success of Beatles scratch choir workshops at previous festivals that celebrated the 50th anniversaries of Sgt. Pepper and The White Album. Tim has long been a professional musician. He is a pianist, composer, & writer, with a long list of engagements, compositions, & publications. Awards include first prize at the 2000 Buxton Fringe Festival, & nominations for two awards in 2008. Eleanor is a recent music theatre graduate. She is a vocal coach, singer, & actor, already with numerous theatre & vocal credits. She runs the ‘Let’s Sing Choir’ which has appeared at a number of New Mills events including Christmas Lights and Carnival. They have appeared at Buxton International Festival 2018, and MIF 19.
