New Mills Volunteer Centre (venue 47)

Jacqueline is a mum of three, a dog mum to two pooches and a wife to the most patient husband. After a long 3 year battle with illness, Jacqueline found herself retired at 46 with very little to do. After recently moving to Hayfield she instantly fell in love with the arts and craft side of the village, which inspired her to pick up a paintbrush and start experimenting. After a good push from friends Jacqueline set up a Facebook page and started to sell personalised illustrations. Nothing could have prepared her for the positive response and she was swamped with orders from all over the world, and it is still the same now. As her confidence grew, so did the work. Jacqueline found herself taking on commissions for large watercolour & ink paintings. These are not often advertised as orders come from word of mouth.
Jacqueline feels that she is at the very early stage of finding out who she is both personally and as an artist. It is her art that is helping her hold her head up high again
