Linda tries to capture the essence of the High Peak landscape in mixed media artworks using collage, printing, paint and natural materials. Sometimes of particular locations, but more often an expression of what is elemental about the area: gritstone edges, moorland, running water and high winds, an upland populated by hardy sheep, mountain hares and soaring buzzards. In her Mediterranean pictures, Linda tries to express the heat, strong colours and sunshine of that landscape.
Linda is a member of New Mills Gallery, where in addition to her paintings, she exhibits cards and textile works. Linda trained at Leeds College of Art in the 1960s and has been making artwork ever since.
